Taking care of the youngest members of our herd is also extremely important as they are our future!

keeping our cows happy is our top priority!

OUR BARNS ARE DESIGNED FOR MAXIMUM COW COMFORT. THEY ARE BUILT TO CONTROL THE ELEMENTS, PROTECTING OUR COWS FROM HEAT, COLD, WIND, RAIN, AND SNOW. EACH BARN PROVIDES PROPER VENTILATION, FANS, COMFY SAND BEDS, A SPRINKER SYSTEM, BODY SCRATCHERS, AND FREE ACCESS TO FOOD AND WATER. OUR COWS ARE FREE TO ROAM, EAT AND SLEEP AS THEY LIKE.

    Calf Care

Young calves can be vulnerable to health concerns, so focusing on cleanliness and keeping a close eye on them is essential to their care during this phase of their life. Check out the video below to learn more about how we keep our calves healthy.

    Quiet Brook: Our Heifer Farm

    A Stage of growth

After our calves are weaned off milk at around 2 months old they are moved to our heifer farm about 5 miles down the road from the main farm. At this location our primary focus is keeping our heifers healthy and well-fed as they age. As they grow they are moved from pen to pen to accommodate their increased size and nutritional needs.  When they have reached maturity they will be bred and become pregnant. About two month before they are ready to give birth they will return to the main farm and give birth in the same maternity area they were born in. Shortly after giving birth they will join their herdmates in the milking herd. So much work and heart goes into caring for a heifer before she takes her place in the milking herd. Watching her grow and then thrive as a milking cow is something our Calf & Heifer Team takes great pride in!
