We believe in good genetics. Our primary focus is always caring for the cows in our milking herd. To do that really well we need to be proactive, and that starts with genetics. Cookiecutter Holsteins is the genetic arm of our business and the foundation of our high-producing Holstein herd. Cookiecutter markets genomic females, bulls for AI and embryos nationally and internationally. If you are interested in our genetics please inquire using the form below.
Cookiecutter Holsteins was launched in 2004 with the purchase of MS KNGS-RNSM CHAMP HALEY-ET as a 6-month-old heifer. A flush to Goldwyn while Haley was a virgin heifer, resulting in eight full sisters, has perpetuated the family through varying branches. Today over 5,000 animals carry the Cookiecutter prefix.
While we have some animals remaining from our foundational lineages of Quiet Brook and Main-Drag Holsteins, as well as some others, our Cookiecutter animals make up much of our milking herd. Cookiecutter is a three-way partnership between Denise Dickinson, and Kyle and Luke Getty, who are all involved at Ideal Dairy full time.
The Cookiecutter prefix evolved to identify our strong desire to develop a "cookiecutter" cow living in a "cookiecutter" world. We intentionally breed for desirable traits that sustain a high-producing and healthy cow. We are also very intentional about creating a consistent and optimal environment for cow health and comfort. A Cookiecutter cow in a Cookiecutter world!
